Although it’s a difficult decision to part with your house, sometimes circumstances force you to make that decision. Consider the following points when deciding it it’s time to sell your house:

  1. Your Lifestyle Has Changed  You cannot add on, but you know that your lifestyle has changed and requires more room. A couple of examples include a growing family or needing to make room for a home office.

  2. You Have Too Much Room  Sometimes people end up having too much space when their children go off to school or get married. When you are faced with these circumstances, it is definitely time to consider selling. In addition, think about all you will save in utility bills and lawncare.

  3. Remodeling Won’t Offer A Return On Your Investment  Before remodeling, you should study your neighborhood and get to know the highest valued houses and if your house is comparable in style and condition, then you should not waste your time and money since your house is already in the highest valued group. This is an excellent sign that it is time to sell.

  4. You Can Afford to Sell  Although you will be making money from the sale of your house, be sure that you have the money available to prepare the house to go on the market. You will probably need to do some painting and other minor improvements.
