Football season is here! Friends will be visiting to watch the games and, of course, enjoy some good snacking. Check out these simple recipes for delicious dips:
Tahini Dip - Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds. To make this delicious dip, puree ½ cup of tahini paste, add the juice from 2 lemons, 2 teaspoons of ground cumin, and 1 minced garlic clove. Drizzle in ½ cup hot water and puree until smooth.
Hummus Dip - Use a half of the tahini dip from #1 above and puree with 1 can chickpeas, add 3 tablespoons olive oil and ½ cup water. Mix together for hummus dip.
Chipotle Guacamole Dip - Mash 3 avocados with ¼ cup minced red onion, add 1 tablespoon minced chipotles in adobo sauce and the juice from 1 lime, then salt to taste.
Blue Cheese Dip - Mix the following together: 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese, ½ cup mayonnaise, ½ cup sour cream, ¼ cup buttermilk, and minced chives.
Charred Tomato Salsa Dip - Broil 2 tomatoes until charred, cool and core them, pulse in a food processor with 1 minced jalapeno, 1 scallion, 1 garlic clove, and 1 tablespoon fresh mint. Salt to taste.
