A Spooktacular Event Is Happening In Covington LA
Trick or Treat! Superheroes, ghosts and pint sized villains will scare up some “spook-tacular” treats at Boo Fest 2017. The 8th Annual Boo Fest event is scheduled Saturday, October 28th from 9am-3pm on the grounds of Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, LA. Hosted by ACCESS Louisiana, the event invites children of all abilities - disabled and able-bodied alike - to Trick or Treat at over 70 "Haunted" Houses and Castles decorated by local area business sponsors. Last year this Northshore event was attended by almost 10,000 people! Pizza, hot dogs, sno cones and other family friendly food and drinks are offered as well as arts and crafts, games, sing-alongs and a costume contest. In addition, the Annual Northshore Area Board of Realtors (“NABOR”) Chili Challenge features over 20 teams competing for title of Chili Champion! The entrance fee is just $2. Want more Boo Fest info? Visit http://accesslouisiana.org/boofest-2017/ In just five years, this Northshore event has raised over $150,000 for local families of children with disabilities. These funds are used by ACCESS to distribute financial grants to families of children with disabilities for non-covered insurance items such as wheelchairs, transportation modifications, and adaptive and assistive devices. The mission of ACCESS, Adapting and Changing Children’s Environments with Successful Solutions, is to help support children with disabilities and their families in order to improve their quality of life.
