If you love birding, you should check out St. Tammany Parish’s BirdFest to be held on April 7-9, 2017. This will be the 21st Annual Great Louisiana BirdFest, sponsored by the Northlake Nature Center. Join the BirdFest to experience seeing various species of birds as they migrate north through St. Tammany Parish from Mexico and South America. If you would like to begin birding but need information on how to get started, see the link that follows: The BirdFest offers photography workshops and field trips to locations throughout St. Tammany Parish. Depending on the weather, you should be able to see approximately 125-150 different species of birds during BirdFest. Register early as some events have limited participation.
