Cool Off With These Watermelon Popsicles
If you love treating yourself to a refreshing fat-free popsicle during the long hot summer, then check out this simple DIY vegan watermelon recipe. Watermelon is perfect for making popsicles because of its high water content. To make a great popsicle, be sure that the watermelon is watery enough to freeze and also sweet enough. Add agave nectar if it needs sweetening. Here is the recipe: Add 2 ½ cups deseeded watermelon into your blender with these optional ingredients: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons lime juice, or 1 tablespoon food-grade rosewater. If you have a powerful blender, you can blend the seeds with the watermelon mixture for a nutritious and tasty addition to the popsicles. Be sure to have popsicle trays for pouring the mixture and don’t forget to add the popsicle sticks. Freeze for about 3-4 hours and when you remove from the freezer, let them defrost for about 5 minutes before carefully removing from the trays. Enjoy!
