Dirty Rotten Scoundrels At Mandeville 30 X Ninety Theater
If you are a fan of live theater, be sure to check out 30 X Ninety Theater, Mandeville’s community theater. It is located at 880 Lafayette Street, directly behind Liz’s Where Y’At Diner. Founded in 2014 by Adolfo Rodriguez, Jason Leader and Tom Bubrig, the theater is committed to providing excellent live theater on the north shore while contributing to art education in St. Tammany Parish by offering students the opportunity to gain service hours by working on or off stage. In addition, 30 X Ninety provides financial support to local high schools’ drama departments. This year’s productions included Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Nutcracker, A Few Good Men and others. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is the next production and runs from June 10-24, 2017. Based on the 1988 film, the play features Gordon Carmardelle as Lawrence who lives lavishly through charming rich ladies out of their money. Lawrence meets Freddy, played by Rudolfo Rodriguez, another con man who swindles women out of their money by pretending that his grandmother is sick. When the two characters meet on a train, they agree to work together but soon discover that the town is too small for both con men and they agree on a settlement of $50,000. This is where the fun begins with each con man trying to outdo the other with outlandish schemes to collect the money. For additional information on the play, please see:
