Get ready for Slidell’s Little Theater production of Young Frankenstein continuing through May 14, 2017! Mel Brooks revised his enormously popular parody of horror films into a stage musical comedy in which we follow the hilarious misadventures of Victor Frankenstein’s grandson Frederick in Transylvania where he has inherited his grandfather’s estate. In this version Frankenstein is pronounced “Fronk-en-steen”. Supporting characters include Igor, Frederick’s hunchbacked sidekick who convinces him to carry on his grandfather’s work and Inga, his assistant, who becomes his love interest. Frankenstein does create a monster which disappears and all the fun begins in trying to catch the monster. Songs include “Welcome to Transylvania”, “Roll in the Hay”, “Puttin’ on the Ritz” by Irving Berlin and many others. Young Frankenstein is great entertainment for the entire family.
