Come join the fun at the 42nd annual Strawberry Festival in Ponchatoula to be held on April 7-9, 2017 in Memorial Park in historic Ponchatoula. This festival began in 1972 as a block party with a baseball game and a small parade; today the festival attracts more than 300,000 people. There will be lots of fun for people of all ages, from strawberry eating contests, sack races, live music on 2 stages, 50 carnival rides and the Strawberry Strut, a 1-mile fun walk. You can sample all forms of strawberries:  plain, with cream, chocolate covered, strawberry pie, strawberry daiquiris, even strawberry wine, along with all types of other festival food. All the food vendors work for nonprofit groups that use the proceeds to benefit their cause. For additional information, visit the website at: http://www.lastrawberryfestival.com/Home.aspx.
