Mandeville’s Original Krewe of Orpheus is the Northshore’s premier men’s Mardi Gras krewe. Their parade is scheduled to roll on Friday, February 24, 2017 when you will hear the krewe saying “Hail Orpheus” “Hail Yes”. This krewe organized and paraded a year after the all ladies Krewe of Eve was formed. The crowds loved it. Its signature throw is the Pineloon, which is a pinecone that has been sprayed purple and green and sprinkled in gold glitter, then glued onto a doubloon. Northshore parade enthusiasts have compared the Pineloon to Zulu’s coconut.  When you attend one of these parades, you can see how much fun they are having.
