Tastin Tomato At French Quarter Creole Tomato Festival
Get your taste buds ready for those succulent Creole tomatoes to be showcased at the upcoming French Quarter Creole Tomato Festival! This year will be the 31st annual festival held in New Orleans’ historic French Market District from St. Peter to Barracks Streets on June 10-11, 2017 from 8 AM till 5 PM. The creole tomato was originally imported from the West Indies and grown here mostly in St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parishes where the soil is perfect for maintaining its delicious taste and texture. During the 2 days of the festival you will see life-sized tomatoes giving out tomato fans, cooking demonstrations, a creole tomato parade and live music. In addition, there will be local farmers’ booths offering a variety of creole tomato dishes, such as creole tomato basil crepes, fried green tomatoes and much more.
