On Trend With Trenasse Restaurant
Don’t miss visiting Trenasse, located at 444 St. Charles Ave. in the Intercontinental Hotel. This popular, high end lunch and dinner restaurant won the 2015 Opentable’s Diner’s Choice Award. Specialties include Gulf fish and meat with a Southern accent. The owner and chef is Jim Richard, a Lafayette native who worked at Commander’s Palace before moving to Florida, where he opened the successful Stinkys Fish Camp in Santa Rosa Beach, before moving back to New Orleans. Here is a sampling of the extensive menu: blue crab bisque, alligator tamales, rabbit and shrimp fricassee. Two favorite dishes are the fried brie burger and the strangely named Stinky’s stew, which is similar to a seafood bouillabaisse. Stinky’s Stew is the signature dish of Chef Richard’s Stinky’s Fish Camp. The restaurant is open 11 am - 10 pm on Monday - Wednesday, 11 am - 11 pm on Thursday - Saturday, and Sunday 10 am - 10 pm with brunch from 10 am - 4 pm.
