Come celebrate the third annual presentation at the Saenger Theater of Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue on April 29, 2017! This will be third year for the band to perform their Treme Threauxdown at the Saenger Theater during the Jazz Fest. Trombone Shorty, whose real name is Troy Andrews, grew up in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans and was well-known in New Orleans through his sold out performances at Tipitina’s and House of Blues. Also, in 2013, he and his band closed out the Jazz Fest, replacing the Neville Brothers. For additional information, please see the following link: He did not become a headliner, however, until 2015 when he performed for the first time at the Saenger Theater along with popular performers such as Ivan Neville and Allen Toussaint. He and his band returned in 2016 with guests George Porter, Jr., Marc Broussard and others. This year’s performance will also feature Dumpstafunk and others will be announced shortly.
